The Great Aussie Bird Count is one of the largest annual citizen science projects in Australia.  For one week in October, everyone is encouraged to head out into their backyard, local park, beach, headland or forest to count the feathered friends you find there! 

Not only will you learn about the wonderful birds who call your favourite outdoor places home, but the information we collectively gather will help fill critical knowledge gaps in our understanding of bird ecology and conservation.  The event also raises the profile of native birds throughout Australia.
