We are very happy to announce that our Community Nursery will continue to receive funding through the Environmental Levy to employ a nursery coordinator to support our nursery volunteers and to ensure that the nursery continues to run smoothly. This will be the 8th year of this funding. The nursery was busy last year, propagating over 9000 local native plant species for local native vegetation restoration projects.

Our Community Nursery will also be receiving funding through the local provenance plant community-based nursery component of the Foundations for National Parks & Wildlife Landscape Resilience program. This Program was initially set up in response to the Black Summer fires of 2019-2020, aimed at bushfire recovery, however FPNW is now focusing on the greater need to improve broader landscape resilience to address all kinds of extreme weather events. The funding will help subsidise some of the costs that are involved with the production of plants at our nursery.
